Katherine VanDenburgh

Dr. Katherine VanDenburgh-Rugen is an Editor of IEEE Access with IEEE, supporting peer review operations and journal management. Previously, she was a Senior Journal Manager at AIP Publishing, responsible for the strategic direction, development, and growth of a portfolio of open access journals. Her experience also includes researcher education and engagement efforts.

Katherine holds a PhD in materials science from Indiana University Bloomington, where she discovered her interest in science communication while serving as an editor for ScIU: Conversations in Science. She is passionate about maximizing the global impact of research through effective science communication.
