Jo Cox

Jo Cox is Legal Director at Springer Nature Group.

After training in a top City law firm in London, Jo moved in-house 12 years ago and joined Springer Nature in August 2019.  She has advised across the Springer Nature Group portfolio of books and journals—including Nature, Springer, BMC, Palgrave Macmillan, and Discover—on legal aspects of editorial policy, publishing ethics, and research integrity.

Jo has extensive experience handling defamation, copyright, and editorial disputes globally, including litigation in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, the US, and India. She regularly supports editors and publishers in navigating complex legal challenges, including those arising from retractions and allegations of misconduct.
