Consultation: the future direction of the Article Sharing Framework
Moderated by Richard Northover, Product Manager, Identity + Access, STM Solutions
Sharing Platforms are expected to seek permission from publishers before they can make protected journal articles available through their services. Publishers are responsible for making relevant and necessary information about rights and sharing policies available to platforms to allow them to make sharing decisions appropriately. The Article Sharing Framework (ASF) provides a standardised way for this exchange of information to happen.
STM is exploring the potential benefits of expanding ASF sharing policies to include additional content types and sharing contexts. This would allow more complete coverage of the academic resources that researchers need access to and more clarity on how sharing can happen. We would like to invite interested stakeholders to a webinar where we’ll look for opportunities to investigate and test these ideas.
