Tony Histed

Since joining Sage, a global academic publisher, in 2004, Tony Histed has played a pivotal role in driving the company’s global sales strategy. He has held a series of senior leadership positions, leading book and journal sales teams across international markets, including EMEA, APAC, India, and Latin America. His expertise extends beyond sales, having also overseen customer service operations in these regions to enhance the overall customer experience.

In 2010, Tony took on an interim leadership role in Singapore, where he managed Sage’s Asia-Pacific operations, further strengthening the company’s presence in the region. He has also been actively involved in key publishing initiatives, such as international market working groups and contributing to the Publishers Association’s annual statistical reports on the book and journal market. Before joining Sage, Tony gained extensive experience in both international and domestic sales, working with commercial and university-based publishing houses. His publishing career began in retail with a high-street bookselling chain, providing him with a strong foundation in the industry.

Tony holds a degree from Cardiff University and has completed several professional qualifications at Cranfield University. He was appointed Vice President of International Sales for Sage in November 2010.
