Sharon Cooper

Sharon joined BMJ as its first Chief Technology Officer in September 2013 after 5 years working at Directgov/Government Digital Service (GDS). She was promoted to be the Group’s first Chief Digital Officer in 2016.

She has delivered a range of major transformation projects: replacing legacy systems with cloud or SAAS applications, leading an agile delivery transformation, implementing continuous integration and DevOps, data centre relocations and leading the change in culture required to drive the digital agenda and focus on customers and user centred design.

She was voted into 3rd place in 2016 Top 100 CIOs by CIO magazine.
