Pat Phelps
Dr. Patricia Phelps received her Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctorate at NC State University. Currently, Dr. Phelps is the director of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Professional Development Office.
The office serves graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the schools of medicine, nursing and public health. Previously, Phelps created and led the Science, Training and Diversity Office at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, which is now TIBBS, IMSD, and PREP, as well as founded NC DNA Day.
She also held a leadership post at the National Institutes of Health’s Office of Intramural Training and Education and was lead educator for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History’s Genome, Unlocking Life’s Code exhibit, a 4,400 square foot exhibit visited by over 3 million people and currently on tour across the United States.
