Mandy Hill
As Managing Director of Academic Publishing at Cambridge University Press, Mandy Hill is responsible to Press Syndicate for the quality, development and performance of the publishing programmes worldwide across the breadth of the Press’ academic book and journal portfolio. She is a member of the Press Board, and of the Academic Publishing Committee of the Press Syndicate. In this role Mandy is leading the Open Research transformation of the journals programme and ongoing digital innovation across a breadth of research and learning products and services, and is exploring the changing role of the university press in supporting researchers and learners worldwide. Mandy is also the Press Champion for Diversity and Inclusivity and chairs the Press-wide Publishing Ethics Committee.
Before joining Cambridge University Press in 2014, Mandy worked for Oxford University Press for over 15 years, initially in journals editorial, before becoming Publishing Director for Global Academic with editorial responsibility for the UK academic books and journals programmes in 2010. Mandy’s publishing career started at Elsevier (6 years) and also included a brief period at a medical communications agency.
Mandy is also currently a member of the STM Board, the Treasurer of the STM and a member of the Publishing Board of the Royal Society.
