Jacek Ciesielski

Jacek Ciesielski is Vice President, Open Access at De Gruyter, as well as CEO of De Gruyter Open, formerly Versita, a company that he launched in 2012 and which was acquired by De Gruyter in 2012. He is responsible for Open Access strategy for De Gruyter and for developing its Open Access business. He has made De Gruyter Open one of the leading Open Access only publishers, with almost 500 journals and over 100 Open Access born books.

Before moving to academic publishing, Jacek managed Eastern European subsidiaries of multinational corporations, Hasbro and Fujifilm. He received MBA degree from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and graduated in law from the London School of Economics, focusing there on intellectual property.
