Greg Melia

Greg Melia, CAE is Chief Member Relations and Strategy Development Officer for ASAE - The Center for Association Leadership. In that role, he is responsible for membership recruitment, engagement, and retention, the Certified Association Executive credential, ASAE’s volunteer experience, strategic leadership retreat, connections with local, regional, and state societies of association executives and the association management company communities. He has been on the ASAE staff since May 2004.

Greg is a specialist in leadership development, with a focus on the nonprofit community. He holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from The College of William & Mary, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a graduate certificate in Creativity and Change Leadership from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at the State University of New York. He earned the CAE credential in 2004, and was named a "Young & Aspiring Association Professional" by Association TRENDS in 2009.

Greg’s previous professional experience includes the post of director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management, which is the oldest and most recognized program for nonprofit leadership development; serving as an organization development consultant to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and as an inaugural staff member of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Pentagon City, Virginia.

Greg is an avid reader, cook, and Red Sox fan. He lives in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife Amy, and daughters Francesca and Marguerite.
