Frank Rubino

Frank Rubino's career started when he ran a development team at The New York Times, automating statistical graphics to enable full-page typesetting. His team also implemented the newspaper’s transition to digital photo editing. When he joined Adobe Systems in 1993, his team implemented collaboration, XML, and data-driven features for Creative Suite.

In 2006, Frank joined MarkLogic where he built content applications for customers such as Wolters-Kluwer, Congressional Quarterly, and Publishers Press. During that time he worked on Adobe's IDML Developers Council.

In 2010 he was brought on as CTO to modernize and cut costs at Spectrum Chemical & Laboratory Products, a privately held manufacturer. There he led an Oracle EBS migration, an e-commerce website re-architecture using content-based marketing and noSQL, a continuous business process improvement initiative, a global network expansion, and the establishment of a PMO and helpdesk.

Re-joining the content industry, he implemented ECMS and launched a mobile e-textbook distribution platform at Kaplan Publishing. Frank is currently Solutions Director at MarkLogic, focused on the next generation of information delivery products using noSQL and semantics.

He continues to design and implement solutions for publishers who are transforming their businesses, such as Pearson, America’s Test Kitchen, APA, and ALM.

He lives with his wife and four children in New Jersey, and tweets as @xmlnovelist.
