Frank L. Hammond III
Frank L. Hammond III is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and M.S. degrees in both mechanical and electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. His current research focuses on the development of microsurgery and minimally invasive medical devices in the Harvard BioRobotics Laboratory, and on the design of assembly tools for microrobot fabrication in the Wyss Institute at Harvard. Prior to his career in academic research, Frank spent several years on industry research at companies such as Intel Corporation (wireless communication) and Lockheed Martin (radar technology). His academic work has been presented at several international conferences and has been published in peer-reviewed archival journals on both engineering and medical science.
