David Flanagan

Dr. David Flanagan is Senior Director, Data Science in Wiley’s Research organization.

His most recent focus involves leveraging generative AI in publishing and thinking about its potential, positive and negative, for research integrity.

Previously he was general manager of Wiley’s cheminformatics products, including the award-winning machine learning retrosynthesis tool ChemPlanner. Prior to that, he was Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Functional Materials. He earned his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
