JOINZhao Chai
Dr. Zhao Chai is the Editor in Chief of KeAi Publishing, the joint venture of China Science Publishing & Media and Elsevier. She holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics from Peking University. Joining KeAi in 2014, she has supported the general manager in overseeing the company’s overall business operations and strategic development, with core responsibilities including managing KeAi’s journal publishing business, leading the marketing department, and supervising the indexation and analysis team.
During her tenure at KeAi, she has collaborated with over 100 Chinese research institutions to explore the establishment and development of STM journals. Her successful partnerships include renowned organizations such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, etc., in advancing their journal initiatives. Dr. Zhao is actively engaged in activities related to the development of STM journals and has frequently served as a keynote speaker, sharing insights on critical topics, such as global publishing trends, data-driven journal management, and research integrity, etc.
Prior to joining KeAi, she served as a Managing Editor for both the Chinese and English monthly editions of Science China: Mathematics at Science China Press.
