Portico, a not-for-profit digital preservation service founded in 2002, has built a trusted and reliable community-based “dark” archive to address the preservation needs of the scholarly community. Portico preserves content through three services—one for e-journals, one for e-books, and one for digitized historic/digital collections (d-collections). In addition, Portico participates in research that prepares for future preservation needs.
Currently, more than 25,000 e-journals, 650,000 e-books, and 150 digitized historical collections are committed for preservation in Portico. Complete lists of content committed for preservation in the Portico archive can be found online at: http://www.portico.org/digital-preservation/who-participates-in-portico/participating-titles
