Systems Support Executive, Journals
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Support Executive to join us on a permanent full-time (35-hour week) basis.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate.
Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role.

The role
As a Systems Support Executive, Journals you will work closely with colleagues in Publishing and Technology to maintain and develop our journals peer review and production systems. You will be providing technical support and advice while also working with agile product teams to develop our publishing provision and help drive our Digital Transformation strategy.
We are looking for an individual who is comfortable identifying and resolving problems while engaging with internal and external stakeholders, both on a one-to-one basis as well as presenting in workshops or showcases.
You would be comfortable context switching between a number of different systems and projects and enjoy a high level of variety in your working day. We do not require specific technical training, but you should demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and processes quickly.

What we are looking for:
- A good honours degree (preferably in Science)
- Aptitude to learn and apply new technologies quickly and effectively
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Good communication skills in interacting with internal and external contacts and experience of communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
- Good organisational and time-management skills are required together with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise and to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage and switch between multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Good attention to detail
- Proven ability to work well as a team
