Project Manager – Publishing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Publishing team on a permanent basis. If you’re looking for a role where your experience and ideas will help deliver the strategic direction of the business, then look no further!

What will you be doing?

The role of the Project Manager – Publishing will be varied but crucially you will ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of projects that introduce valuable new customer insight, products or services associated with our goal to expand our publishing output and embrace the transition to open publishing models.

This key role, which works across teams and departments, will own the delivery of projects from initial concept to completion/implementation, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are kept informed and up-to-date on progress, that deadlines are transparent and met, and that budgets are adhered to.

Key job accountabilities include:

  • Managing operational processes using the agreed project management methodology
  • Coordinating project team meetings and managing the outputs, especially managing actions and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinating reporting capabilities and introducing best-practice
  • Keeping teams organised and focused on agreed projects and goals
  • Providing regular progress reports to the senior publishing management team on progress
  • Setting clear, well-defined post-project goals/metrics to assess value/output

About you:

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

  • Prince II or equivalent project management qualification or equivalent experience is essential
  • An understanding of Scrum and Agile methods is desirable
  • Excellent communication, face-to-face and written skills
  • A motivated and autonomous self-starter
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised and capable of juggling multiple priorities

Flexible Working:

As there will not be a requirement for the person in this role to be in the office weekly, we are open to considering applicants from a wider geographical area who are happy to travel to Bristol for meetings around once per month, subject to business needs.
