Product Manager (New Markets)

The Royal Society of Chemistry is seeking an innovative Product Manager, New Markets to lead the development of cutting-edge digital products for sustainable laboratory practices. This 18-month fixed-term role will play a crucial part in our professional development program, aligning with our sustainability strategy and commercial initiatives.

As our Product Manager, New Markets, you’ll spearhead the creation of digital learning and certification products focused on sustainable laboratory practices. This includes market research, ideation, development, launch, and ongoing optimisation. To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in new product development, digital learning platforms, and commercial acumen, along with a passion for delivering engaging and effective learning experiences.
Reporting to the Head of Product Management and Innovation, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, collaborating closely with our Product and Science teams. You will build strong connections with cross-functional teams, our members, and customers, developing relationships to influence key decision-makers, meet financial goals, and create community impact.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role. In this role it is expected that you will attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and develop product strategies
- Lead end-to-end development of online learning and certification products
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, designers, and technology teams
- Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate product vision
- Monitor product performance and drive continuous improvement
What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience in new product development, preferably in digital learning
- Degree in Business Administration, Instructional Design, or related field (chemical sciences background a plus)
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of digital learning models
- Proven track record of successful product launches
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Working knowledge of learning management systems
