Peer Review Manager, US Remote
The Peer Review Manager oversees peer review initiatives and projects and manages peer review systems staff. This position will be fully responsible for delivering projects and process development and peer review system support for Sage journals, in collaboration with global peer review managers.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Manage peer review staff, supporting individual performance objectives and regularly providing feedback to staff on performance in accordance with the peer review team’s guidelines.
· Lead recruitment as budgeted and request personnel as needed.
· Report regularly on team workload and capacity.
· Oversee staff training and career development.
· Collaborate with global peer review managers in support of global peer review team goals and projects.
· Oversee peer review projects and process development in support of research pillar goals.
· Support peer review staff with the delivery of Sage Track system support, site launches, project execution, and process improvement.
· Identify areas for improvement within our peer review programme and initiate projects with high impact and visibility to address those issues, proactively collaborating with global managers in order to strengthen Sage’s peer review program.
· Manage relationships internally and externally to ensure and maximise the benefits of the peer review program.
· Support the management of peer review costs.
· Support internal communications regarding peer review system updates.
· Report regularly on team performance against key metrics.
Qualifications & Education:
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
· In-depth knowledge of peer review industry trends and initiatives.
· Demonstrated ability to manag estaff.
· Proven experience with project management.
· Strong decision-making skills.
· Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
· Ability to plan, organize, analyze and establish priorities to achieve results.
· Must be highly proficient with software, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Excellent organization, research and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to learn new skills, technologies, methods and procedures quickly and effectively.
· Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
· Excellent professional written and oral communication skills.
· Must be adaptable and able to work in a changing environment.

Compensation at Sage is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations. We anticipate the minimum full-time salary range for this position to be between $64,064.00 – $80,080.00. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits.
