Media Operations Executive
We are currently recruiting for a passionate Media Operations Executive (MOE) to provide outstanding operational support to the Media Group. If you have an eye for detail and a flair for process, then we can offer you a varied role in a rapidly developing publishing area where you’ll be seen as the ‘go-to person’ for everything from webinars to sponsored content logistics.
The world has seen significant changes over the last few years and the pandemic has accelerated aspects of digital publishing as well as brought interesting opportunities to the fore. The media industry has seen changes in people’s news consumption habits with an increased appetite for digital products, including audio and webinars. We have drivers of sustainability and accessibility helping to shape our forward strategies and now is an exciting time to be joining the team as we take the next steps on our digital transformation journey.
What will you be doing?
Key job accountabilities include:
- Webinar logistics: our webinar programme has grown significantly over the last few years, and you will be responsible for liaising between the sales team, marketing, production, the sponsors, speakers and technical suppliers to ensure efficient scheduling and smooth running of the webinars.
- Management of the distribution of magazines: whether our flagship title Physics World or one of our partner titles such as CERN Courier, the distribution of the magazine editions is key to meeting the needs of our global readerships. Working with our mailing houses and, through them, a range of international postal services, you will play a critical part in ensuring our readers receive their eagerly anticipated issues. Working with marketing, considerations for growing digital circulation will be a crucial aspect of this activity.
- Building readership beyond regular circulation: working with the sales team to identify key conferences at which to secure distribution of Media’s brands, you will negotiate with conference organisers and arrange for distribution at their events. Digital distribution is increasingly key and so you’ll contribute to coming up with new ways to reach these key audiences.
- Effective organisation of our Sponsored Content programme: branded and sponsored content has become an important part of our advertising offering and needs efficient co-ordination between the sales team, the freelance editors, the clients, and production. Spotting opportunities for Continuous Improvement are an interesting and rewarding part of this activity.
- Sales Operations: A wide range of operations close to the sales area such as sales data analytics, involvement with using our CMS for sales product platforms and other sales-facing operations activity.
