Features Editor, Physics World (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a Features Editor to join the Physics World journalism team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months to cover a period of maternity. This is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your publishing career, using your enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to contribute to the success and growth of the world’s leading physics magazine.
Role Summary
Working alongside our other Features Editor, you will be contribute to Physics World’s programme of must-read, long-form articles covering the whole breadth of physics. This will involve devising, commissioning and editing feature, careers and book-review articles written by high-profile academics, industry leaders and specialist freelance writers, managing the entire process from initial idea to final publication online and then in print.

Qualifications
- Degree in physics or related discipline, preferably to PhD level.
- Science communication experience
Skills and Experience
- Exemplary science writing and editing skills
- An ability to manage a complex workload to deadline and budget
- Creativity to devise great article ideas.
- A demonstrable interest in all areas of physics and its applications.
- An ability to communicate and work well with external contributors
