Editor Engagement Manager

We are looking for an Editor Engagement Manager to join our global Publishing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on our strategic engagement with external Editors and editorial board members, including improving the recruitment, training and onboarding processes, as well as our continuous communication to Editors, establishing a rewards programme and regular events. The Editor Engagement Manager will be the key driver in our work as a publisher to engage closely with our external journal Editors in order to nurture and support their success.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Defining and delivering our strategy for engagement with external Editors;
- Recruitment of new Editors – owning the recruitment process, documentation and best practice;
- Onboarding & training of new editors including but not limited to:
– Designing the onboarding programme;
– Creating the training content for new editors in collaboration with other teams across IOPP;
– Evolving our engagement to meet the changing needs of Editors, e.g. around emerging challenges in publishing integrity and ethics.
- Continuous engagement with external Editors through regular communication, online and in-person events, attendance of key international conferences.
Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Extensive academic publishing experience in STM journals, specifically in roles where close collaboration with journal Editors is required;
- Experience of continuous improvement of processes;
- Experience influencing stakeholders at different levels across multiple cultures;
- Experience motivating and engaging internal and external stakeholders;
- Interest in science communication;
- An undergraduate university degree is desirable
- Project Management qualifications are desirable

Flexible Working:
