STM 2-day US Annual Conference 2025

From insight in trust
to implementation of trust

Please note that the conference will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule, no audio or video recordings will be made.

Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd April 2025

As an industry of disseminators of trusted knowledge, our goal for this 2-day conference is to explore implementations of ‘trust’ by our stakeholders — the ways publishers, libraries and innovative organisations are ensuring that information is reliable, credible, and produced with integrity. The ways we are leveraging agile and iterative solutions within this evolving ecosystem to advance trusted research.

In other words, here we will shine a light on potent innovations already in play — and show you how they are working to drive reliable scholarship though real-world examples, case studies and strategies. And, as always, creating ample space for questions, answers and collaborative ideation.

What’s the STM Annual US Conference?

This is an inspired convening of individuals and organisations committed to advancing trusted research — academic publishers, learned societies, funders, university presses, government bodies, and innovators — from across the globe for two days of inspired networking, learning, and ideation.

Join us in Washington DC on April 2nd – 3rd at the National Press Club in the heart of Washington DC to hear from speakers and panelists across a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Open to STM members and non-members — all are welcome.

Register today to grab your seat — and tell your colleagues. This event tends to sell out!

Publishing technology makes it possible to add accessibility features like tags, captions, and audio descriptions at the time of publication. As AI becomes more mature and accurate, publishers can harness this technology to advance these efforts at scale. At the same time, deadlines in legislation like the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the updated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations in the US drive the urgency of conversations about born-accessible publishing. In this session, panelists will discuss how technology can help publishers achieve what the law tells us to do in a sustainable way, and at scale.
