Free to attend
Background: Further to the initial conversation STM hosted at the end of May addressing publishers’ copyright agreements, we now invite you to join us in a second webinar, this one with a more specific topical focus and an emphasis on the current situation in the United States. STM General Counsel Molly Stech will engage in conversation with Seán O’Connor, Professor of Law at George Mason University Scalia School of Law. Rather than focus on contracts from a publishers’ perspective, this conversation seeks to explore and focus more on the point of view of researchers and writers who work within the framework of academia and need to understand and navigate the positions and realities inherent in the confluence of working with funders, universities, and publishers. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session so please come ready to post those! Who should attend: All involved in scholarly publishing: Authors, researchers, reviewers, funders, librarians.Where an event has registration fees, cancellations made in writing up to 30 days before an event are eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds can be made for cancellations received on or after 30 days prior to the event date, however, substitutions may be made free of charge at any time.
