Founded in 2005 by four francophone scholarly publishers, Cairn.info (www.cairn.info) is an online platform offering electronic versions of publications from the catalogs of around 200 French-language publishers in social sciences and humanities – in 2020, the collection reached 500 journals and 10 000 ebooks.
As part of its effort to increase the global visibility and usage of its contents, in 2015 Cairn.info launched Cairn International Edition (www.cairn-int.info), an English-language platform featuring translations of selected journals and articles, allowing scholars and students to search, browse and read materials originally written in French, without the need to speak the language.
