Jessica Pancholi

Jessica obtained her Ph.D. in organic supramolecular chemistry from Queen Mary University of London in 2015. This was followed by postdoctoral research at University College London (2015-2017) and the University of Oxford (2017-2021), with projects in medicinal and supramolecular chemistry respectively.

She joined the Tetrahedron team at Elsevier in 2021 as a scientific editor based in the Oxford (UK) office. She works on the Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry titles and is a founding and handling editor on the new gold open-access title Tetrahedron Chem, focused on synthetic organic chemistry. 

Eugenie Regan

Dr. Eugenie Regan is the VP of Research Solutions at Springer Nature leading the dissemination and development of solutions to empower researchers to advance discovery.

Eugenie holds a Ph.D. degree in natural sciences from National University Ireland, an Executive MBA from University of Cambridge, is a Fulbright alumnus, and Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society.

Eugenie is a widely respected and published conservation scientist and is the author of more than 40 academic papers including in Science and Nature. She has developed and managed projects with the UN Environment Programme, European Commission, and World Bank, amongst others, in Europe, Africa, and Asia and is passionate about supporting early career researchers – helping them in their day-to-day work, fulfill their personal career ambitions, and achieve the societal impact of their research.

Dror Kolodkin-Gal

Dr. Dror Kolodkin-Gal is a scientist, researcher, and entrepreneur. He studied immunology and microbiology at Tel Aviv University before completing a Ph.D. in virology at the Hebrew University. He has also been a research fellow at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, as well as a senior researcher at the Hadassah Medical Center at Hebrew University.

After seeing the toll paid by fellow researchers and journals that experience retractions or reputational damage after unintentionally including image duplications, Dror wanted to improve publication integrity.

Dror founded Proofiger Ltd and developed with his team an automated image integrity detection software that uses artificial intelligence to detect image duplication and manipulation in scientific manuscripts. Dror and the Proofig R&D team works closely with the plenty of publishers and university to provide them with the state-of-the-art product contained the with highest value for their needs.

In his free time, Dror enjoys running, playing chess, and reading. He also enjoys exercising his brain with math and logic puzzles — which comes in handy when he helps his kids with their homework :).

John is Hum’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. 

Drawing from his tenured background in traditional publishing, John enjoys helping associations and publishing leaders learn to harness their data for strategic decision-making.

Debbie Wilton

Debbie Wilton is the Director of Marketing and Library Liaison for PSI Ltd.

Debbie has worked in the fields of both STM and Educational publishing over the last 3 decades and has been working to raise the profile of PSI and theIPregistry.org for the last 5 years.

PSI is the developer of theIPregistry.org and PSI Metrics and also the STM endorsed Due Diligence Bureau. Cenk Özbakır

Cenk Özbakır is the founder of OA.mg, a research database of over 240 million papers that specialises in Open Access works. He is a graduate of Bauhaus University and has worked in Stockholm, Kuala Lumpur, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, and now London. His hobbies include reading open access papers and networking at EdTech events. 

Erica Wilfong Boxheimer

Senior Research Integrity Adviser at Springer Nature. She offers expert advice to editors and publishers for handling complex research integrity questions.

Erica has been active in research integrity for more than five years and focuses on identifying ways to improve journal policies, communication, and workflows to aid handling of pre- and post-publication ethics issues.

She has presented on policy at the WCRI 2022, participated in industry working groups, and volunteers as an adviser for the UK RIO.

Before joining Springer Nature, Erica spent seven years at EMBO Press where she developed expertise in image data analysis, four years as a professional freelancer, and one year at the American Library Association.

At present, she is completing an MSc in innovation, leadership, and management.

 

Markus Zlabinger

Dr. Markus Zlabinger is an entrepreneur, computer scientist, and machine learning expert. He studied computer science and obtained a BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. from the Technical University of Vienna. His research passion is machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and how to create training data more time-efficiently.

Markus co-founded ImageTwin, a company providing services to detect image integrity issues in figures of scientific publications. He leads technology and product development. Markus identifies customer needs by closely cooperating with hundreds of experts, universities, journals, and publishers and sets the company’s course accordingly. His motivation is fostered by developing new cutting-edge technology that satisfies critical customer requirements.

In his free time, Markus loves doing sports. He participates in several clubs, including tennis, football, and (beach) volleyball. Also, if you organize a board gaming evening, you can count him in.

Patrick Starke

Patrick Starke is an entrepreneur, economist, and startup expert. He studied economics and obtained a BSc and MSc from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His professional passion is making new technology available for everyone to make our lives easier.

Patrick co-founded ImageTwin, a company providing services to detect image integrity issues in figures of scientific publications. He leads finance and business development. Patrick works closely with the scientific community to build the ideal solution for image integrity issues. His motivation is to make research more comparable by improving scientific standards.

In his free time, Patrick loves to spend time in nature. Based in beautiful Austria, he enjoys skiing and hiking in the local mountains. If you are planning a bike trip, Patrick won’t miss it.

Claire Hao

Claire Hao, Founder & Director

In 2014, Claire completed MSc Publishing at Edinburgh Napier University.

She has held past positions at Huazhong University of Science and Technology Press, Zhejiang University Press, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment in both the foreign rights area and scholarly communication spaces.

In Claire’s previous role at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, she supported through strategic author services in Asia, successfully managed various authors-related projects multilingually. She is involved with the Asia Pacific Writers and Translators, China Association of Research Integrity and Responsible Innovation, and Council of Asian Science Editors. 

Claire founded Every Author Pub with its language editing and educational services to make academic publishing more accessible to more less experienced, non-native English-speaking authors.
