Alt Text Writing Guide for Scientific and Scholarly Images

This document is a collaborative effort by members of the STM Association to develop a comprehensive classification system for scientific, technical, and medical images accompanied by graphic examples and alternative text image descriptions (alt text). Alt text is one method to share visual information with those using assistive technology such as screen readers.
