Paul Gee

Paul Gee is a scholarly publisher and digital strategist with twenty-five years of experience leading online product innovation in scholarly publishing and medical education. As Associate Publisher and Vice President of Product for JAMA and the JAMA Network, he leads across high-performing, matrixed teams that deliver one of the world’s most influential families of medical journals.

A long-standing member and frequent presenter at SSP and STM, Paul is known for giving his time generously — sharing insight and collaborating openly with colleagues across publishing houses, whom he counts among his greatest sources of inspiration.

Paul believes scholarly publishing stands at an inflection point as consequential as the arrival of digital platforms and authentication tooling two decades ago. As AI accelerates the pace and volume of content, he sees the field’s future in amplifying human expression, embracing colloquial audio and video, and applying scholarly insight directly to the needs of patients, engineers, and scientists. Getting there, he argues, means safeguarding integrity, driving down the cost to produce, and sharpening our collective capacity to innovate.

His earlier career spans the American Association for Cancer Research and nearly a decade at Wolters Kluwer Health, where he earned his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
