He Manchao

Professor Manchao He is a distinguished expert in rock mechanics for mining engineering. He is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Argentine Academy of Engineering, the Russian Academy of Mining Sciences, the Director of State Key Laboratory of Tunnel Engineering (TESKL) in Beijing, and Professor of China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing (CUMTB), China. He currently serves as Chairman of the Open Science Promotion Consortium, Vice President of the International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction, President of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering and Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering and Rock Mechanics Bulletin. Professor He has long been dedicated to research on rock mass disaster prevention and control and engineering technologies. He has developed a series of NPR constant-resistance large-deformation anchoring products and corresponding engineering technology systems. He has been awarded numerous important honors, including the State Technological Invention Award, the State Science and Technology Progress Award, and the China Patent Gold Award.
