Antonia Seymour
Antonia Seymour has more than 30 years’ experience shaping an evolving publishing industry. As CEO of IOP Publishing, she leads a society-owned, purpose-driven organisation operating in a complex landscape defined by open access mandates, AI-driven disruption, geopolitical fragmentation and increased scrutiny of research integrity. Her leadership reflects a clear understanding that STM publishing must scale and innovate while maintaining trust — balancing commercial sustainability with the integrity and accessibility of the scholarly record.
Antonia has driven significant portfolio growth at IOP Publishing, expanding global partnerships and accelerating investment in data and technology to future-proof the organisation. She is known for challenging convention and advancing ideas that deliver collective benefit, establishing IOP Publishing as a leader in peer review and research integrity through transparent processes and community-focused initiatives.
Earlier in her career at Blackwell and Wiley, she led global editorial, product and business development functions, delivering growth and digital transformation. A Board-level role as Chief Commercial Officer at Nominet further broadened her perspective on technology disruption, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure — insights increasingly critical as publishing converges with data, platforms and AI ecosystems.
Antonia served as President of the UK Publishers Association (2023–2024) and as a board member of the STM Association (2019-2022). She is also a trustee of Sight Research UK.
