Aicha Hanna

Aicha Hanna is a Publisher at Springer Nature, working within the Open Access journals group out of Heidelberg, Germany.
Aicha started her publishing career at Springer Nature in 2021 as a Publishing Assistant, supporting a portfolio of hybrid Springer journals in Biomedicine, before managing a portfolio of Cell Biology journals from the same portfolio. Since 2023, she manages a portfolio of Health and Life Science journals within the npj Series, part of the Nature Portfolio. As part of the npj Series team, she has both managed established titles and arranged the launch of several new journals in the Life Sciences field.
Prior to joining Springer Nature, she worked in digital marketing and SEO in Scotland and Italy, before spending one year teaching English as part of a volunteering programme in Germany.
From 2023 to 2025, she was a co-chair of the Heidelberg chapter of SN Pride, one of the SN Employee Networks. Since April 2026, she is part of STM’s Early Career Publishers Committee (ECPC).
She graduated from the University of Glasgow, UK, with a Master of Arts in English Literature
