Ralph Youngen

Ralph Youngen has more than 30 years of experience with the scientific publishing industry.  Since the late 1990s, he has been with the American Chemical Society where he has held numerous positions of progressive leadership.  Ralph is currently Senior Director of Technology Strategy and Partnerships for ACS Publications.  In this role, Ralph is responsible for ensuring that the ACS Publications information technology assets are optimally aligned to meet customer needs and to actively engage in external partnerships and industry relations.

Ralph served as Co-Chair of RA21, a jointly sponsored by STM and NISO initiative aimed at easing pathways for access to scholarly information resources.  Ralph now serves as one of STM’s representatives on the Governance Committee for the Coalition for Seamless Access, which is operationalizing the recommendations from RA21.  Ralph is also a member of STM’s Standards and Technology Executive Committee.
