Vaishali Damle

Vaishali Damle received her B.E. degree in electronics and telecommunications from Pune University and her M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stony Brook University. She has been actively working in the scientific, technical, and medical publishing field for over 20 years.

She specialized in editorial content development at Springer Nature from 2004 to 2013. In 2008, she became responsible for 11 journals and a book output of 20-25 books per year, spanning several areas in applied and interdisciplinary mathematics as a Senior Editor.

She joined IEEE in 2013 as the Managing Editor for Proceedings of the IEEE and took over responsibility for IEEE Press in 2017. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations for both products, she is responsible for liaising closely with the volunteer editorial boards and developing and implementing the short- and long-term content and marketing strategies and contributing to the financial planning and strategy. She most recently supported the launch of IEEE Climate Magazine, a new publication focused on technology solutions to address climate challenges.

Vaishali recently served as the Diversity and Inclusion Representative for the Publications group at IEEE and as a member of the ALPSP EDI working group. She continues to participate in the C4DISC community of practice calls and is certified to deliver the “Focus on Unconscious Bias” training program from Employment Learning Innovations (ELI).
