Julia Kostova
Dr. Julia Kostova is the Vice President for Academic Partnerships for the Americas at Taylor & Francis. She oversees partnership strategy, institutional and community engagement, and advocacy, collaborating with research communities, institutions, libraries, funders and other stakeholders to create and disseminate transformative, cutting-edge research.
Dr. Kostova brings nearly 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. Previously, Dr. Kostova was Director of Open Science for North America at Frontiers, an open science publisher. She was also the US Head of House, having established the company’s regional operations and strategy, and served as Publishing Director. Prior to that, she was VP for Scholarly Communications at Outsell Inc., and held key positions as executive editor at Wiley’s Global Research division and Senior Acquisitions Editor at Oxford University Press. Throughout her career, she has built long-lasting partnerships across the scholarly communications ecosystem, and is committed to working with stakeholders to design solutions that accelerate scientific and technological advancement for the public good.
Dr. Kostova has volunteered extensively with leading organizations in the scholarly communications sector, including STM, where she serves as a member of the US Chapter and Program Committee, and SSP, where she chaired the Generations Fund Endowment Committee and served on the Finance Committee.
Dr. Kostova holds a PhD from Rutgers University—New Brunswick.
