Eleanor Hatton

Eleanor Hatton is the Publishing Platform Lead at the Geological Society of London, where she is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Lyell Collection platform, ensuring the delivery, accessibility, and discoverability of scholarly content. In this role, she works closely with internal teams and external vendors to support platform development, improve user experience, and maintain high standards in digital publishing.

She contributes to workflow configuration, persistent ID’s, metadata, and platform troubleshooting across systems such as submission and peer review systems and publishing platforms, helping to ensure the efficient flow of content from submission through to publication. She also has a strong interest in accessibility and the ongoing development of inclusive publishing practices and aids in upholding the societies research integrity values

Ellie started her publishing career at Editorial Office Ltd in 2021, where she managed the full manuscript lifecycle for a range of publishers and learned societies, developing expertise in peer review workflows, editorial quality control, and stakeholder communication.

She graduated from Swansea University with an MSc in Nanomedicine and a BSc in Medical Biochemistry, bringing a strong scientific foundation to her work in scholarly publishing.
