Mark Walford
In 38 years in academic publishing Mark Walford has worked for four publishers in a variety of roles. He joined SAGE in 1995 and has played a small part in its growth into a major publisher. His role at SAGE is a portfolio one, combining responsibility for global rights and licensing, contracts and copyright with public affairs and M&A.
For a number of years, he chaired the UK PA Serial Publishers Executive (during the debates around the development of the UK government Finch report on open access). Mark also sat on the PA Copyright Committee and is an active member of the STM Legal Forum and STM Europe group. He is currently on the boards of Publishers Licensing Services and the Copyright Licensing Agency.
