LORRAINE ELLERY, DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, HIGHWIRE

Lorraine Ellery joined HighWire Press, a leading technology solutions company, in March 2015 as Director Business Development. Lorraine is a Business Development and Strategic Marketing professional with extensive experience of working with Science, Technology, Medical (STM) and professional publishers and intermediaries worldwide.  She has worked across various industries during her career, the past 17 years within the publishing and information industry.  She joined HighWire from Semantico prior to which she worked for 11 years in various roles at Swets who, at the time, were a leading global organisation providing content management services to publishers and libraries worldwide. Lorraine’s roles at Swets included Global Marketing Manager, Publisher Services with a focus on exploring strategic partnerships and developing the publisher product and service portfolio. Prior to this she held the position of Publisher Sales Manager for 4 years at Swets Gateway, a global sales and marketing channel for publishers focusing on content sales to specific market segments. Earlier roles included Senior Sales Manager, Swets Publisher Relations and Marketing, a role focused on strengthening and optimising the commercial relationships with publishers, developing and selling new solutions and services. She also spent 3 years as Regional Sales Manager for EBSCO Publishing selling a wide range of web based products and services including online full text periodical reference databases to the UK library market. Lorraine has also been an active member of the Association of Subscription Agents (ASA), undertaking a voluntary role of Chair for the Marketing & Membership Committee from August 2011 to February 2013. She has undertaken an active role as a member of the 2015 ASA Conference Planning Committee and the ALPSP 2015 Conference Committee.
