AnaMaria Ion
AnaMaria Ion is the Library Services Manager for De Gruyter’s Publisher Partner Program. She assists in the integration of University Presses hosted on DG’s platform and also provides institutional support for the North American market. With a background in library and information sciences, Ana’s passion is in assisting end users access electronic content across a wide range of disciplines. She is involved with promoting DG’s discovery services and is the main point of contact for tor this topic for over 75 institutions.
At De Gruyter, Ana is involved in the North American office’s Professional Development Committee since 2018. She is also the Chair of the company’s IDEAL steering committee, which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism Lived. Ana played a large role in the origin of this DEI committee at DG and actively engages with the different regions represented at the company.
In her spare time, Ana loves to read and listen to podcasts on the topic of 20th-century history and fiction, psychology, and spirituality. She enjoys hiking, camping, and hanging out ocean-side when the New England weather likes to cooperate.
