Publishing Services Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an organised and efficient Publishing Services Assistant to join our high performing Publishing Operations team on a permanent basis.
Role Summary
Providing excellent service contributes to the attraction and retention of top authors and reviewers, and is critical to the future success of IOP Publishing. Publishing Services Assistants work as part of one or more journal teams, supporting in-house peer review staff, and external stakeholders throughout the peer-review process.
As a Publishing Services Assistant you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service to our authors and reviewers. You will be the main customer contact point throughout the manuscript journey and follow set working procedures to perform various administrative tasks on one or more journal titles. Accurate and prompt data input into our submission system is also an integral part of the role.
Happy to work independently as well as within a team, you will be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, be adaptable, quick to learn and have a proactive mindset towards work. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, who can work to very high standards of accuracy when entering data and in written correspondence.
What will you be doing?
Key job accountabilities include:
- Responding to customer queries;
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of articles through the publication process;
- Ensure that permission and copyright agreements are received and accurate;
- Updating the peer review system promptly and accurately;
- Performing final checks on accepted manuscripts.
