Thomas Connertz

Born in 1962, Thomas Connertz studied Social Sciences at the universities of Marburg and Hamburg, Germany. After various positions in the field of marketing consultancy, he worked as an editor for an Open University and developed concepts for e-learning software. In 1999, he joined Thieme Publishing Group, based in Stuttgart and New York City, as Director Electronic Journals. He is now responsible for several innovation projects within the Thieme Group. He is a member of the board of directors of CrossRef , an advisory board member of NESTOR, the German National Library's digital preservation initiative, and works in several industry committees in Germany, such as the Open Access strategy group of the Boersenverein (Germany's Book Trade Association).
