Zoltan DienesAfter completing his PhD at Oxford University, Zoltan's first lectureship was at the University of Sussex in 1990, where he has been ever since. He has published two books and over 100 scientific papers on the distinction between the conscious and unconscious, hypnosis, computational modelling of learning, catching cricket balls, and on the use of Bayesian statistics as an alternative to significance testing. One his books, published in 2008 by Palgrave, is on the philosophy of science and statistics. He is an associate editor for the Cortex Registered Reports scheme, as well as for Frontiers, an experiment in new refereeing methods. He has asked all co-authors to make raw data publicly available whenever papers are submitted. He has widely used online statistical web programs in an effort to change worldwide statistical practice.
