Andrew Hufton

Andrew L Hufton is the Managing Editor of Scientific Data, an open access journal for descriptions of scientifically valuable datasets, from Nature Publishing Group. Andrew is responsible for the editorial policies of Scientific Data, peer review and publication workflow, and is interested in finding better ways to publish about data, by ensuring that data publications genuinely enrich the scientific literature, while giving scientists meaningful credit for sharing their data. Andrew received his PhD from Stanford University in 2006, and did postdoctoral work at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. His research included topics in developmental genetics, computational biology and genome evolution. Before joining Scientific Data, Andrew worked as an Editor at Molecular Systems Biology.
