Jason Winkler

Jason Winkler is the Director of Strategic Business Development for the Journals Program of the American Psychological Association – the world’s leading publisher of psychological scholarship. He is primarily responsible for journal acquisitions and establishing high profile relationships with scholarly societies for the APA Journals Program.  During his tenure, Jason expanded the Journal’s portfolio by more than 20 scholarly publications. In addition, he oversees new product development, strategic market research, development of mobile applications, management of social media, and digital outreach to non-traditional customers. 

Jason’s professional interests include the translation and dissemination of scientific research for both clinical and non-clinical audiences and the development of a sustainable knowledge base for future generations.  He is currently engaged in a pilot program that works with authors to summarize and disseminate their research through their universities and funding agencies to increase visibility and impact.

In 2012, he spearheaded the establishment of APA’s Student and Early Career Advisory Council on Publications (SECAP), a group of young professionals charged with providing real-world insights into the needs of young academics and clinicians to better and advance APA Journal’s program offerings. 

Prior to joining APA in 2010, Jason worked as a graduate student marketing intern at Deloitte LLP’s Center for Health Solutions in Washington, D.C., where he conducted research and created marketing collateral for numerous health and health care publications. He holds an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Maryland, College Park and a BA in Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
